Apple released iOS 11 in September 2017. Here is what you need to know about Tapjoy’s iOS SDK and iOS 11 compatibility:
- Tapjoy SDK versions that function on iOS 10 (versions 11.8.0 and later) will continue to function on iOS 11. For Tapjoy iOS SDK versions 11.8.0 and later,is not be necessary to update the Tapjoy SDK in response to the release of iOS 11.
- Tapjoy SDK versions prior to 11.8.0 will have the same issues on iOS 11 as they have on iOS 10. The most important of these issues is that, for users who have turned Limit Ad Tracking on, the Tapjoy SDK will not function: The connect call will fail because the IDFA is all zeroes, and Tapjoy SDK versions prior to 11.8.0 do not handle this correctly. If you are on an iOS version of Tapjoy earlier than 11.8.0, we recommend you update to the latest version of the Tapjoy iOS SDK. But iOS 11 will not create additional issues for SDK versions prior iOS 11.8.0 that are not already happening on iOS 10.
- If you are using Tapjoy via mediation, you must check with the mediation provider as to whether the mediation iOS SDK requires an update in response to the release of iOS 11. It might be the case that Tapjoy’s iOS SDK does not require an update, but the mediation iOS SDK does require an update.
